The Fictionaut is a being that exists in different forms throughout the history of Omniverse. He exists to uphold the Cosmic Balance, and must forever bear the burden of correcting any imbalance of Order or Chaos across the Omniverse and to setting the scales right again. Our story starts with the current Fictionaut, the three hundred and twenty-seventh incarnation.
Something or someone is retconning and undoing the work he and previous Fictionauts have done throughout time. It searches for a sacred ledger supposedly containing all the Omniversal secrets of previous Fictionauts written by “The Mad Imagineer”. The Mad Imagineer was a former Fictionaut who went insane and attempted to venture outside of Creation seeking to completely control the Universal Balance and attempt to destroy both Order and Chaos to find the ultimate expression of his own defiant will by refusing to be an agent of balance and finding a way to exist beyond the influence of fate.
Who is searching for this ledger is the mystery and if it is the return of The Mad Imagineer how can he exist when there can only be one Fictionaut in existence at a time?
The themes of The Fictionaut series revolves around the free will problem while meta-commenting on various genres themselves and their influences on pop-culture, history and existence itself.
It is a challenge to the “tyranny of predestination”.
